Keep Your Head Up
When things get you down, the only way to look is up.
As I’ve mentioned before, being a model comes with a lot of rejection you constantly show up to “go sees” and casting calls and sometimes you have the “look” that the clients are searching for and sometimes you just don’t.The key to being successful in this business is not to take it personally. You only have the body/ face/ height you were born with and though is it possible to alter your appearance with plastic surgery there’s only so much you can change. You can’t change what God gave you but you can change the way you handle rejection.
After going to a casting call and finding out I didn’t get the job I’m sometimes curious who did. The majority of the time it’s someone that’s blonde or older so ultimately I just didn’t have the look they needed. However, even if its not you they are looking for its important to show up. Being at every casting call gives you the opportunity to meet casting directors and for them to see that you are committed.
It is also important to either be one of the first models they see or one of the last so that you’re not just a blur in the crowd to them. When you meet a client or casting director it is important to be charming and personable, be someone they will want to work with, someone they feel confident will be a good representative of their company.
If you’re that good you might just get a job because you had such a great personality whether or not you have the look the client was trying to find.
As always please leave a comment if this was helpful or not, or if you have any questions
